Good Morning, Lady Confectionary here.Today's special is, Decorative Cake Flowers!
Today, I, Lady Confectionary. Will be teaching you on how to make decorative cake flowers, which can be used for weddings cakes, birthday cakes, so on so fourth.
This is just step one of the flowers which is the base.
Ingredients used:
ღ 50 grams gelatin
ღ 250 ml hot water
ღ 500 grams icing sugar
ღ 2 tbsp sodium benzoate
First, dissolve 50 grams of gelatin into 250 ml of hot water.
I and my brother, couldn't stand the smell of the gelatin, as it stank. why can't they make it scentless? gosh.
And so, we gave it to our mother to help us stir.

Next measure 500 grams of icing sugar. You know that bag was the last bag of icing sugar in the baking shop? supermarkets and stores has all ran out of sugar.
Mom says either those muslims are buying all the sugar for their Hari Raya Ramadan.
Or, they're just keeping all the sugar and waiting till the price goes up before they put it all back on the shelves to sell.

This is what the gelatin will look like, all stirred up and dissolved. ugh the smell is horrible.
After that, get two tbsp of sodium benzoate
Then, sieve both 500 grams of icing sugar and 2 tbsp of sodium benzoate together into a bowl.
Pour in the gelatin along with it after everything has been sieved and mix it using an electrical mixer set on high.

After everything is done, it'll have a nice, thick, fluffy consistency and will look like something above.
And finally it's done! you've now completed the first step for making the flowers, remember to keep the gooey base stuff in a container and keep it for at least one full day before using it.
I'll be teaching you how to make the actual flowers in the next post.
So until then, good luck in the kitchen! and many thanks for my little brother, and my mother for helping.
